Nine Are Grand Slam Titles Conquered

Jonas Bjorkman was born on March 23, 1972 in Alvesta Sweden. He is a professional tennis player. He started playing tennis when he was only six years old and in 1991 he became a professional tennis player. Until now (2007) he has won six ATP single tournaments and fifty ATP doubles tournaments. His career results speak themselves and you can figure out what a good tennis player he is, especially at doubles.

In 1996 and 2007 he reached the fourth round at Roland Garros and in 1998 and 2002 the quarter-finals at the Australian Open. His best performances remain the semi-finals played at the US Open in 1997 and at Wimbledon in 2006. The six single titles were won at the tournaments in Aukland, Indianapolis, Stockholm, Nottingham, two times, and Ho Ch i Minh City after facing in the finals players like Kenneth Carlsen, Carlos Moya, Jan Siemerink, Byron Black, Wayne Arthurs and Radek Stepanek.
Besides these titles he won three ITF titles at Bergamo, Nagoya and Aachen against Paolo Cane, Patrick Rafter and Jan Apell. In 1995 he played the final of the Hong Kong Open, but he lost it, as well ass the final in Coral Springs, Paris Indoor in 1997. In 2003 was the year when he lost another final, this time at Marseille. After three years he participated at the tournament in Nottingham where he managed to reach the final, but unfortunately he lost it.
Among the fifty doubles titles, nine are Grand Slam titles conquered at: three at the Australian Open, three at Wimbledon, two at Roland Garros and one at the US Open. Max Mirnyi, Todd Woodbridge and Jan Apell are the partners with whom he has won many doubles tournaments.
