Els was considered a no hoper for the tournament after he carded a 9 on the 18th hole at the Delhi golf club - home of the Indian Masters - on day one of the tournament.
But the big South African looks to have fought back superbly and now has a very realistic chance of winning the 2008 Indian Masters. He lies at two under par, just four shots behind leader Raphael Jacquelin who carded a solid 72 in blustery conditions. Ernie Els is nicknamed the Big Easy on account of his rythmic swing.
